Piano Instruction
I have had the good fortune of working with many wonderful students over the years. To be able to instruct, motivate, and share my enthusiasm for music with people of all ages has been most rewarding. Some of my goals for students are:
1) To learn and develop good musicianship
2) To learn how to practice effectively and efficiently
3) To expose students to a wide variety of music
4) To develop self-esteem and self-discipline
5) To have students become life-long participants with music

Students should bring a spiral notebook for assignments to their lessons.
Metronome - Students need to practice with a metronome. You may use a mechanical or electronic type. There are also various metronome apps; I prefer the metronome app called "Tempo Advance".
CURRICULUM
Kent has a unique method of teaching, with goals and standards forged through experience and practice.
Practice
Consistent and effective practice are the keys to progress with any endeavor. Here are a few tips I suggest to students:
Have a vision. Always have a goal, aim & ambition.
Plan, organize & use your time carefully.
Learn to dissect the music.
Stay calm. Be patient, take your time & never get discouraged.
